With the consumption tax increase, the initial examination fee and reexamination fee will change.
2019.10.01
With the consumption tax having increased from 8% to 10% as of October 1, postage rates will rise from 62 yen to 63 yen for regular postcards, and from 82 yen to 84 yen for regular mail,
The prices for public transportation such as buses are also rising, and various other fees are gradually increasing
Medical expenses will change slightly, due to the temporary revision of the medical treatment fee due to this consumption tax increase.
The initial visit fee will increase by 60 yen, and the revisit fee by 10 yen
Here are the revised fees related to clinical service.
First, the “first visit fee” and “revisit fee” will change.
The first examination fee is paid when you first visit a hospital or clinic.
The initial examination fee had previously been 282 points (2,820 yen), but has increased by 60 yen to 288 points (2,880 yen).
The re-examination fee is paid when the same illness or injury continues to be treated after the second visit to the hospital or clinic. The re-examination fee changes from 72 points (720 yen) to 73 points (730 yen), up by 10 yen.
However, the amount that the patient pays (co-payment) is 10-30% of this price, so the price increases are actually 10-30% of 60 yen and 10 yen.
In addition, pediatrics’ “pediatric outpatient medical fees”, “pediatric family doctor medical fees,” and “comprehensive regional medical fees” that evaluate the functions of family physicians for outpatients with chronic illnesses, have increased slightly.

Medical expenses are tax-exempt, but why are they rising?
By the way, within the scope of medical care covered by public medical insurance (insurance medical care), medical expenses are tax-free. In other words, there is no consumption tax.
Even so, some people may be wondering why the initial and reexamination visit fees will rise.
This is because medical institutions such as hospitals and clinics pay consumption tax to companies when purchasing pharmaceuticals and various goods. If only the clinic who pays to procure goods pay more and the charges to patients who receive those goods are deferred, the burden will be greater, so the medical fee has been raised slightly for major items such as the tax increases.
By the way, the price of medicine (expense) was also revised temporarily.
So, even if you receive the same examination as before and are prescribed the same medicine for the usual period, I believe the amount is slightly different from September. I hope you understand the situation.
